Order in three dimensions — unit cells, packing and density.
A crystal is one tiny box of atoms repeated a billion times. These simulations let you rotate the unit cell in 3D — simple cubic, body-centred and face-centred — count how many atoms it truly contains, work out the coordination number and packing efficiency, and connect the edge length to the atomic radius and the measured density of the solid.
Beyond the open showcase, subscribed schools get the growing library of The Solid State experiments — searchable, tagged by concept and difficulty, and expanding continuously.
